Dream Factory — short films from young filmmakers

Short films from young filmmakers! Dream Factory (Drömfabriken) is an annual inspirational weekend for young filmmakers in Sweden arranged by the Swedish Film Institute. The Swedish Film Institute works to promote film across the board — from idea to finished product, during launch in Sweden and around the world, and by preserving films for posterity in our archives. Enjoy our small selection of films!

Love Child

A young girl enjoys the perfect life as an only child, when one day a new family member arrives.

DIRECTION: Since his graduation from the Czech Film Academy, Daniel Wirtberg has freelanced as a writer, director, producer and filmteacher. Previous films include the shorts The Intruder (2007) and Julia (2004).

Lonely Millions

Thought-provoking film about three people, three souls, together but alone.

DIRECTION: Rojda Sekersöz has studied photography and film at Kulturama School of Performing Arts and film directing at Stockholms dramatiska högskola.

Body Lines

Our bodies change over time and so does the way we look at ourselves, and feel about our own bodies. In this animated short film three women of different ages talk about their self image.

DIRECTION: Emma Thorsander directed Body Lines while a documentary film student on Öland, the island on which she grew up. The film won first prize at Novemberfestivalen, a local film festival for young filmmakers.

Death's Best Friend

Death has been working a little too much, a little too long. The only thing he looks forward to is seeing his friend Max. But their friendship is put to the test when work and friendship collide.

DIRECTION: Jacob Kihlbaum recently set up a video production company producing everything from music videos to commercials and corporate films.
