Wow, I agree that this movie clip showed just how stunning Sweden really can be. Although, I guess that the video could have showed a lot more snow and cold climates, as that's REALLY one of the few things that are special about just Sweden.
But overall the video was just spectacular with its pictures and I recommend you all to visit. :)
Even though we might not meet the expectations that the film made up... hah.

Marketing is Marketing, all over the world. For sure every country has their problem, even Sweden or Denmark, ( that I love ) but trust me less than where I live. You are lucky.

I was posted in Sweden for a few short months, in the 80's. I lived in Stockholm, Vaxjo and Gothenburg, the beauty of the people, nature and architecture are unsurpassed. I was privileged to have many Swedish friends.

The people there left a profoundly positive impression on me. They are pioneering, justice-minded and compassionate. Above all they are a peaceful people.

I would live there again in a heartbeat! Now, let's see, where is that plane ticket anyway?

I think this video is pointless. Why show a lot of human faces? There are humans everywhere, this does not say much about Sweden. Also, a lot of the buildings and scenereys the video shows is not special for Sweden. What's the point of showing a red wall of a bland random city building? Or a small part of a nondescript and not special villa?

I recommend this video instead:

PS. I saw a great number of men, poeople of all ages and many people of different ethnics in this clip. Have we watched different films? Or could it be that you were looking specifically for young gilrs? Should young girls perhaps be banned all together from Swedish promotion material? Only in Sweden...DS.

My friend, you can only come from Sweden to place such a woodheaded and disgraceful comment. As I understand it, this is not a documentary but a marketing picture. Have you seen such films from other countries?

It’s so naive, spoiled and ungreatful, as so much in Sweden. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Be greatful and humble — or try Somalia, Afganisthan, Burma, North Korea or any other given of the numerous less privilegeg nations wich make up the majority of the world.

contemporary sweden....my ass. the only thing i saw was thin models. amazing that all the talk about discrimination, gender and stereotypes from our beloved governement really show thru when the governement makes such a fake video.

Where were the men, the foreigners? This is not sweden. it is a stereotype of a non-existing sweden.

And then i havent even mentioned the weather...........

Maria, surely you must be Swedish? I saw brown, black, old and young people in this film. Do you think France would show fat and disabled in a promotion film for that country? It’s not a documentary, is it? Or have I misunderstood?

What is this ???
For sure is not the Sweden I've lived in during 20 years !
Actually Sweden is not composed by 75% blond beautiful, thin, girls. There are also males, black, brown, fat and handicaped people there too !!!

they seem to have missed all the immigrant gangs roaming the cities making life insecure for the rest of swedens people, fireman who doesnt dare to put out fires without policeprotection, women to afraid to take a taxi by themselves, the ghettofication of swedish suburbs.

Lovely video, shows the most beautiful things about Sweden. Too bad the director felt like he had to put some random black people in it, because when you put random black people in a video.. all of a sudden it could be any country in the world. It's impossible to show ''the open minds if Sweden'' to the world without words.

Very beautiful film! But very short... :-(
I feel that it is made with great love to swedish country, people and its nature. I have been to Sweden once (My regards to a little village/town of Valdemarsvik !) and hope to travel to Sweden some day again and experience everything on my own.

My grandfather's family came from Vasterbotten county. I've never been to Sweden, but deep down in my soul I've always felt more Swedish than American. I would love to visit and possibly move there one day.

A thoughtful film. In fact it did show the social diversity of Sweden and the different ethnic groups living there.
I was thinking of visiting over Easter 2008 and now I am off to book the visit. Then I am going to try and learn a little Swedish - tricky pronunciation I think !

I see a lot more than just one point or the next in this video. It's actually very enlightening and shows the great diversity there. Sweden is truly a beautiful Country. I plan to live there some day... even if it's when I'm old, gray, and retired... I'll live there.

I did not like this movie. It seems like Sweden is a country only for Alpha-humans as if they came from Huxley's "Brave new world." I know it is suppose to promote Sweden but this movie was over the top. It seems like it is promoting a luxurious spa or medical clinic for plastic surgery. And while you recover from the treatment you can ski or hike in beautiful nature, eat gourmet food or shop. I really hope that Sweden is more than this...

Having lived in Sweden before, I'm looking forward to doing so again, for a longer time beginning next year (2008). I love Sweden and consider it my second home. The Swedes are cosmopolitan, open, innovative, and organized and quite beautiful in every aspect. My advice: Go to Sweden. Live there for awhile. See for yourself. You'll want to return again and again. Or like me, stay.

Sweden is nature and rock & roll mixed together. If your society is not living contemporary Swedish lifestyle there is something seriously wrong with it.

This is a typical tourist information film that says nothing, and could be for any country. I have been to Sweden at least 20 times and have found it a closed and unquestioning lemmingocracy.

I'm not operating in the Swedish mode yet, I guess.

Hej,

Filmen är mycket bra! It reaffirms me of Swedish ingenuity, design and above all else unspoiled nature.

I'm yet to travel to Sweden but it's a good start. Only wish the film were longer.

Hej då.

What I liked about this video was the fact that it showed contemporary Sweden the way it really is, with many different ethnic groups represented in the midst of the blue eyed, blond population, as well as the beautiful landscape, from north to south in spring, summer and winter.
