Ministry for Foreign Affairs / Press and Information Department

The Press and Information Department provides the media and the general public with information about the Ministry for Foreign Affairs´ operations and Swedish foreign policy. The department plans and coordinates government-financed activities to spread information about Sweden abroad. The department comprises three sections: Press Service, Information Service and Cultural and Promotional Services. Contact the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

The Press Service:

Supplies information to Swedish and foreign media via press releases, press meetings and a 24-hour press service
Responsible for the Press Centre, which provides service to foreign correspondents in Sweden and arranges press conferences
Coordinates press logistics in connection with state and official visits
Programmes for foreign journalists visiting Sweden
Responsible for the Foreign Ministry website - www.ud.se

Responsible for information to the general public about foreign affairs and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs
Advises Foreign Ministry departments on information and communication matters
Responsible for printed material

Cultural and Promotional Services:

Plans and coordinates publicly funded information about Sweden and promotional activities abroad
Serves as the office of the Council for the Promotion of Sweden (NSU)
Responsible for Sweden's participation in International exhibitions
