The Equality Ombudsman Discrimineringsombudsmannen

The Equality Ombudsman (DO) is a government agency that seeks to combat discrimination on grounds of sex, transgender identity or expression, ethnicity, religion or other belief, disability, sexual orientation or age.

The Crime Victim Compensation and Support Authority (Brottsoffermyndigheten), situated in Umeå, in northern Sweden, has a staff of approximately 50 people. The authority is responsible for assessing state compensation, administering the Fund for Victims of Crime and acting as an expert centre.

The social insurance scheme is administered by the social insurance offices, which also see to it that you receive the benefits to which you are entitled. All residents of Sweden are registered with a social insurance office when they reach the age of 16.
