The UN has proclaimed 2010 as the International Year of Biodiversity. Sweden wants to highlight the economic significance of biodiversity. The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity study shows that investments in ecosystems and protection of natural habitats can produce high returns and result in stronger economies.
