Wrapping up for the season

By: Stefan Geens

Location: Sweden

As this blog gets ready to go into hibernation mode until the next panorama project, I thought it would be a good idea to put up this post reviewing all the panoramas I took during my August 2008 trip around Sweden. This time, they're listed not in chronological order but subjectively, from most favorite to least, according to how much I enjoyed the moment and how well I thought the photograph came out in the end.

I'm curious whether you agree with my sorting. BTW, if you own an iPhone or iPod Touch, you can now also access these panoramas on the go: Just download the free PangeaVR panorama viewer from the iTunes app store, and you'll find all these panoramas listed under "Sweden.se - Panoramic Sweden".

Do subscribe to the RSS feed to keep informed about when this blog will be updated next. There are plans afoot to take panoramas of Swedish national holidays, so you may find something new here sooner rather than later. Thanks for reading!

I've wondered about the best way to travel around the whole of Sweden without missing important places (whether I should do a zigzag from south to north or do a loop as you've done), and I think the route you've taken is a really good guide, also of the interesting places I wouldn't have picked out of my guidebooks! The panoramic shots were gorgeous! Look forward to your next Sweden project!

Stefan, what a wonderful project, and your panoramas came out beautifully. I am a huge fan of this work and of Ogle Earth.

I am considering getting into panorama photography as a hobby. Could you post an entry about your setup? For example, what type of panorama head do you use, how many pictures do you usually take per panorama, and what software do you use to assembled the finished panos? Thanks!

I have really enjoyed these and kook forward to the next installment. I think my favourite is the second one- the church interior but I also really liked the one with the horses because it had people in it. We can't wait to come to Sweden to see some of these places for ourselves!

I'm not about the exact order, but I have loved this project - for its idea as much as for the fantastic result(s). I hope that you enjoyed this as much as I did!

I think all the panoramas are great and thanks for including some we haven't seen before.

I agree by and large with your order, but I think the two external views of churches should be higher up the list. They have a special peace and beauty, but then again I always like to look at pictures of churches.
