First language instruction
In Sweden, no matter where you are from, you have the right to request tutoring in your first language, or mother tongue. First language instruction is normally provided for one to two hours per week, in addition to the student’s usual courses. This instruction is intended to help children preserve their existing language skills. Parents should contact their local municipality if they want their children to be enrolled in mother tongue studies.
